Dear Sirs,

 

It is my pleasure to inform you that the “23^rd U.P.STATE OPEN ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2015” is being organized by Varanasi Athletics Association on 19^th & 20^th JUNE 2015. The details of Championships are as follows:

 

CHAMPIONSHIPS:       23^rd U. P. STATE OPEN ATHLETICS  CHAMPIONSHIPS  2015.

DATE :                         19^th & 20^th  JUNE   2015  { FRIDAY  &  SATURDAY}.

VENUE:                        SAMPURNANAND SPORTS STADIUM, SIGRA, VARANASI.

GROUPS & EVENTS:   (1) MEN,   (2) WOMEN   - The list of events is enclosed herewith.

TECHNICAL:               This State Championship will be organised in accordance with the Rules & Regulations of Athletics Federation of India. In case of any dispute the decision of the UPAA Technical Committee will be final and abiding on all.

PRIZES:                       MEDALS & DIPLOMA (MERIT) CERTIFICATES to each winner.

TROPHIES for TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS & BEST ATHLETE in EACH GROUP.

PARTICIPATION:         Only affiliated Units of UPAA and registered Athletes will be allowed to enter.

ENTRIES:                    The athletes who qualify the minimum standards fixed by UPAA will be allowed to enter. Therefore “ENTRY” will be accepted ONLY in the enclosed “Entry-Form”, duly signed by the Secretary of the UNITS. REPEAT: SIGNED by the SECRETARY of the affiliated UNITS Only. The Entry-Form must reach to undersigned by 16^th June 2015 i.e. (Tuesday).

                                    The information of the Teams strength and arrival/departure schedule must be sent to undersigned latest by 16^th June  2015 (Tuesday).

PLACE of STAY:         The unfurnished accommodation will be available near Sigra Stadium, Varanasi. The teams are requested to report at Sigra Stadium, in the evening of  18^th June 2015 and not before that. The place of stay will be available up to Lunch of 20^th June 2015. Since the climate at Varanasi may be hot & humid during the Championship, the participants are requested to bring “Bedding” etc. for their comfort.

BIB  NUMBERS:          The Bib numbers to the bonafide Entries will be issued at 5.00 p.m. on 18^th June 2015 in the office of the Sigra Stadium  Varanasi. The Competition Fees of Rupees One Hundred per athlete will be collected at the time of distribution of Bib numbers.

FLAGS:                        Please bring or send Two FLAGS of your unit for ceremonial purposes.

PROGRAMME:            19/06/2015        5.30 am.:                      Track & Field events.

7.00 am.:                      INUGURATION CEREMONY.

                                                            7.15 am. to 7.00 pm.:    Track & Field events (Rest from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm).   

20/06/2015        5.30 am. to 09.30 am.:  Track & Field events.

10.00 am.:                    MEDAL AWARD CEREMONIES.

11.00 am.:                    FUNCTION of “9^th U.P. ATHLETICS DAY 2014”

IMPORTANT:               The “ENTRIES” will not be accepted without the approval and signatures of the Secretary of the affiliated DAA/Unit in any circumstances whatsoever it may be.

1.         GROUPS:                     MEN  & WOMEN    

2.         EVENTS:         MEN:   100m.,   200m.,  400m.,  800m.,  1,500m.,   5,000m.,  10,000m., 110m.Hurdles,,   400m.Hurdles,

Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, Pole Vault, Shot Put, Discus Throw, Javelin Throw, Hammer Throw,  4x100m.Relay, 4x400m.Relay & 20,000m. Race Walking = Total   20  events.

                                    WOMEN: 100m.,  200m.,  400m.,  800m.,  1,500m.,   5,000m.,  10,000m., 100m.Hurdles,,   400m.Hurdles,

3.         TRACK & FIELD:         400 Mts. GRASSY TRACK with ONE ARENA each for FIELD EVENTS.

Due to safety & administrative (Logistics) reasons, following events shall be organized at Madan Mohan Malviya Stadium, Allahabad on 19^th June 2015 at 5.30 am. After the events are conducted the athletes may join in Varanasi for the Prize Distribution U.P. Athletics Day Function. The athletes who wish to enter in these events are required to report to Mr. Mohd. Rustam Khan, Joint Secretary UPAA at M.M.M. Stadium Allahabad.on 19^th JUNE 2015 at 5.00 am.

Events for Men & Women: - 100m.H, 110m.H & 400 m.Hurdles, 3,000m. Steeple Chase, Pole Vault & Hammer Throw. (Total 5 events in Men & Women group separately) 

4.         TECHNICAL CONDUCT: In accordance with AFI Rules & Regulations.

   (IAAF – Competition Rules 2014-2015)

5.         ENTRIES:                   

Ø  The athletes who qualify minimum standards of participation, will only be allowed to enter in this Championship. Hence the Teams are required to fill up all the columns of the Entry form.

Ø  Each Team can enter maximum TWO Athletes in each event except Relay Races where FOUR Athletes may be entered.

Ø  An Athlete can enter in TWO INDIVIDUAL events and ONE RELAY event.

Ø  The entry will be accepted only in the enclosed Entry Form. All the columns of the Entry Form must be filled in capital letters.

Ø  The Competition Fees of Rupees One Hundred per athlete will be collected during the distribution of Bib-Numbers.

6.         CHAMPIONSHIPS -  PRIZES & AWARDS:

            MEDALS  &  DIPLOMAS

v  INDIVIDUAL:    BEST THREE INDIVIDUAL WINNERS - in each event.

v  TEAM:              BEST TEAM - It will be Champion team in both groups separately on Point basis.

v  OVER ALL:       BEST TEAM - Overall Championship on Point Basis in both groups (combined).

v  PARTICIPATION CERTIFICATE will be issued only to the actual participants.

7.         LAST DATE of ENTRIES:  The last date of entries is 16^th June 2015  (Tuesday)
