Pune:10th May 2012:Second day of the championship Meenu Nirwal from Uttar Pradesh took the inaugural title in the junior women’s 2000m steeplechase clocking 7:53.17, which was introduced for the first time at national level in this championship.Poonam Singh & Rajender Bind both athletes got bronze medal in 5000m and clocked 18:39.73sec & 14:48.90sec. On the first day 2nd event 10000m Race Walk, Meenu Yadav won 1st medal {Bronze} for U.P.team .She clocked 58:39.69 sec for this victory. Meenu Yadav belongs to Bulandshahr District and under trainee of Sri B.K.Bajpai chief coach of U.P.Earlier she won Gold in 46th U.P. State Annual "A" Athletics Championships at Allahabad on 29th & 30th April 2012.

Chardrahas Kushwaha again proved himself in Decathlon event after getting Bronze with 6420 points. He loosed his silver only with the difference of 68 points. Javelin thrower Suman Devi proved her mettle once again with her sixth ever win in this championships. She created New Meet Record with the distance of 56.11m.Old record was in the name of Gurmeet Kaur delhi who created in year 1999 with distance of 55.88m.Another javelin thrower Anu Rani throws 42.34m stayed with 7th place. Invitation: The U. P. State Seminar / Workshop on “Doping” & “Technical Aspects” in Modern Athletics, is being organised by U. P. Athletics Association in association with Athletics Federation of India. The Seminar / workshop will be organized in Auditorium “Pluto” of Indira Pratishthan, Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar, LUCKNOW on 5th February 2012 (Sunday). The Seminar aims to discuss the latest developments and updated version on “Doping Menace”. The Workshop will deal with “Technical aspects” of officiating in Modern Athletics. This will deal the interpretation of latest changes in Rules & Regulations of Athletics updated by International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) Programme:The Doping Seminar will be held in Two Sessions comprising of plenary lectures by experts in dealing with “Doping” issues. This will be followed by presentation by expert delegates from NADA (National Anti Doping Agency) & AFI (Athletics Federation of India). The scope of Seminar is designed adequately to cover the wider issues and aims to cover all aspects of “Doping”. The Participants/Delegates will have ample opportunity to exchange ideas and update their knowledge bank by discussion. The Experts will share their presentation by distributing their papers in printed form also. This will enable the Participants/Delegates to carry sufficient literature with them for their record. The Workshop on “Technical Aspects” will also be held in two sessions comprising of Lectures by Experts in this field. The audio visual presentation will provide an opportunity to experience the latest developments in Athletics officiating. The workshop will deal with the implementation of latest changes in Rules and Regulations on the background of “Competition Rules” of IAAF. The interpretation of Rules is an area which will be dealt with Experts in very practical manner. The organizers are also making an effort to share the latest publications of IAAF with all the Participants /Delegates. The examination was conducted under the lectureship and supervision of Mr.C.K.Valson which was assisted by Dr.Tony Daniel and Mr.Ravinder Chaudhary. The 85 women candidates all over the country were appeared in this examination and the following result of this examination was approved by the Federation Secretary and declared with decision that the first 35 merit listed candidates will be considered selected in first phase and after that 25 candidates categorized as Reserved and rest 25 candidates were listed as in Waiting List from the following results basis as they were secured marks of merit basis. In heats she finish with 2:24.56 sec. Susheel Kumar Tripathi who was the best athlete in state championship won Bronze medal with the distance of 51.70m.That was his sixth attempt. More than 165 candidates from all over state was appeared in this exam. In 165 candidates more than 45 candidates was women candidates. Chairman UPAA Sri Ashutosh Bhalla, Treasurer Sri A.K. Gupta, Sr Vice President Sri S.P.Deshwal, Principal Delhi Public School Smt Meenu Kanwar were available in this exam.
